Ole had another fun walk with Abner this morning while I power walked Shelly and Elmo. Then it was breakfast and nap time in the crate so we could get to work painting the upstairs hall and entry area to the stairway to the stairs up to our roof deck. After a while i took a break and drove the 3 dogs over to Noah's to give Elmo and Ole their baths. This was Ole's 1st bath by me so we took it slowly and made it fun with treats. I put treats in the tub and while he ate them gently swooshed him with a bit of warm water . I did this until he was all wet and pretty relaxed and then out came the soap. Megan, who is one of the worker bees at Noah's brought over some special "Puppy soap". I guess it is milder than regular soap??? It worked just fine and I lathered him up. Cecelia( another worker bee )came into work right about then and said hi to Ole and commented on how brave he was in the tub. I got Ole all cleaned up and smelling foofoo, dried him off and got him out of the tub and then into the tub with Elmo. Elmo is a master of tub etiquette..calm obliging and actually may enjoy it on some level. Elmo is a lot more work though because his coat is long and has to be blown dry after bathing. While bathing Elmo, Cecelia's husband Eric came into visit and came over to meet Ole. Ole really liked him as Eric knew how to fun play with Ole. Ole wants to grow up to be cool like Eric I think. Shelly didn't get a bath today as she prefers baths at home in a low tub. I had to move everyone over to the drying area next so I got Ole a buffalo scapula to chew on and keep him busy while I worked on Elmo. Shelly got up on the bench area next to me and lay down to survey the scene. Everyone was well behaved even with all the other customers dogs coming in and out and I got Elmo fluffed and puffed pretty fast. I paid for everything and then Megan helped me back to the car carrying a big box of Maxim raw dehydrated chicken . I couldn't carry the box and walk 3 dogs at the same time..what a weenie I am!
The rest of the day was spent painting and cleaning and dog care and making dinner. Ole did get another training walk somehow or other. Abner has a rotten cold which didn't help. There is still a ton of painting to do as we haven't even started with the bedroom yet. It has been primed from top to bottom but not the final coat of paint yet. TOMORROW
